More RPGs for Wii, Opoona crash lands in MarchWhile we’re on the subject of role playing games on the Wii it’s an opportune time to mention Opoona’s release date. Koei will release a localized version of the (first?) “lifestyle RPG” on March 25. Opoona does have combat sequences and where your greatest weapon is the Wii Nunchuk. Using it alone, players select force spells and throw energy bonbons. When Opoona landed in Japan last year it was barely noticed by the media and consumers. Hopefully, Koei will have better luck with their ArtePiazza partnership in North America.

Still no european date, or confirmation. I hope it does well in US, although it’s a low profile RPG kind of thing; Wii needs more RPG’s.

I think it looks quirky enough to be interesting (for me at least) with solid RPG gameplay to back it up.

Some people I know have the Koei crap alert on their radar, since they’re sick of Dynasty/Samurai Warriors but I’ve been trying to tell them this one is way different.

This one is by artePiazza the guys behind some Dragon Quest remakes for PS2 (possibly more) and the DS ones (taking DQIX aside)

Infact, this game reminds me of Dragon Quest, and has a old school vibe; but, sadly, it won’t sell nowhere near.

I square the main character resembles Eric Cartman a lot, I don’t know if this game will sell well… will just wait and see… -_-

I personally don’t care for the way the main guy looks, but the game could end up being pretty fun. The environments looked pretty good from the trailer.
