Now that we’re done revealing some of the classic Street Fighter II cast, Capcom unveiled the second brand new character in Street Fighter IV. Abel has ties to the Shadoloo and Famitsu notes one of his moves looks similar to Sean’s (Street Fighter III) Ryubi Kyaku. This bumps the AOU Amusement Expo roster to ten characters and two of them are brand new.
Also Street Fighter IV is going to use Taito Type X2 board. Sure, arcade aficionados probably already know this information, but it hasn’t been kicked into the spotlight. Other games powered by Taito Type X2 hardware include KOF Maximum Impact Regulation A, King of Fighters XII and Arc System Works’ new fighter BlazBlue.
They are right. Sean has a similar kick in SFIII. Good news, and great new art work. This game might be the big comeback….
I personally think he looks horrid…yet still seems right. Hm.
KoF XII, right?
pretty uninspired design, i say. too bad they don’t seem to be interested in doing characters that are rooted in the stereotypes and/or popular images of their countries anymore. this guy’s pretty lame looking, and he stole sean’s kick, so he’s off to a bad start. while crimson looks like she belongs in KOF, this guy looks like he belongs in an old art of fighting or one of SNK’s completely forgettable fighters from the 90s.
Ah I hadn’t heard but been wondering what board the arcade version would run on. Figured it would either be this or Lindberg. Nice though, it is a pretty powerful setup. Now I just hope we don’t have to wait till 09 for a port to PS3 or 360 since finding an arcade anywhere near here that will have a machine will be just about impossible. Still while I am glad there are some new characters in the game, I hope there are a few others from other SF games in it. Since it happens before SF III it would be nice to have Ibuki or another fighter from the SF III series.
Eh, i like it. He fits in more than viper. And its nice to see that instead of another lame ultra-glam male character (get a clue SNK) he actually looks like a fighter.

Awesome piece of intell ;)
On the Famitsu link the other new character showed seems pretty cool as well… “Crimson Viper” seems to be her name, too bad there’s no screenshot of her in action.
