It’s a sunny day in San Francisco and Nintendo is bumping up their (liminal) Professor Layton. Other sites are showing a rough idea of what Professor Layton would look like on a Segway, we’ve got the Professor Layton Mystery Van. I saw this circling around the Moscone Center and snapped a photo of it right away. The people riding Professor Layton segways are sitting comfortably on Mission St and passing out postcards with a puzzle to anyone who strolls by.

Why is Nintendo pushing Layton so much in San Francisco? There are two conventions taking place GDC and Wondercon. And… this concludes our coverage of Professor Layton advertising in San Francisco.

They’ve been hyping up Layton all over the place, it seems. I was at an anime convention last weekend in D.C. and they had people going around the merchant’s hall with chest-mounted video displays and on Segways wearing Layton-styled top hats and handing out postcard-sized ads for the game. They also had some large overhead-projection display in the video game room there as well. It really surprised me with all the hype they had for the game.

I hope all this pimping Nintendo is doing pays off.

I was down at Wondercon today and saw these, I thought the segways were much stranger than the van itself.
