Metal Gear Online beta coming to North America in April

The (tiny?) catch is if you want “guaranteed access” to the multiplayer beta test you need to pre-order Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. I don’t foresee this being an issue for Metal Gear fans who already own a PlayStation 3 since they were likely to purchase Metal Gear Solid 4 on day one. However, those who don’t have a PlayStation 3 sitting may want to wait for the Metal Gear Solid 4 Bundle Pack. For $499 you get an 80 GB PlayStation 3, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and a Dualshock 3 controller. Take note this is the first announced PlayStation 3 package bundled with a Dualshock 3.

 

Other news (probably cycling everywhere on the internet now) includes an April release window for the Dualshock 3 pad. It’s being priced at $54.95, nearly $5 more than a standard Sixaxis controller. Also in June, a limited edition God of War PSP pack will arrive with a Deep Red PSP sporting Kratos visage, a copy of God of War: Chains of Olympus, Superbad on UMD and a coupon to download Syphon Filter: Combat Ops from the PlayStation Store.
