Sanuk Games powers Nintendo DS crossword titles

Two weeks ago I wrote about Crossword Challenge, a project by Sanuk Games, thinking that it was an actual Nintendo DS title. Yan Marchal, from Sanuk Games, corrected me in the comments explaining “Crossword Challenge” is actually a game engine and they have “no plan to release a non-branded crossword game.”

Sanuk Games is the company behind the upcoming USA Today Crosswords, the recent Sun Crossword Challenge and a French language crossword title called Mots Croisés. There are a lot of crossword games for the Nintendo DS and Sanuk Games is secretly behind a porition of them. Unfortunately, these touch screen crossword games are released in multiple regions, which makes it difficult to obtain all of them for a comparison. Wouldn't it be funny if they ran exactly the same puzzles?
