And Cartoon Network gets it. No show times have been announced, but it will appear before 11PM since it’s not part of Adult Swim. Perhaps, Blue Dragon will be an addition to the shrinking Toonami lineup?

The timing is spot on too because the Blue Dragon series started airing in Japan last spring. Now all we need is the Blue Dragon Manga and we’ll be brought up to speed with Shu’s adventures beyond the Xbox 360 game.

Wow, that’s really creepy looking. They look like little animated puppets

Marc Says:

The manga is here it’s called Ral Grad

Aoshi00 Says:

The anime is not that great, even compared to the game’s lackluster story… I am just watching it every week just for the sake for the Toriyama chars.. But this is really a kid’s show thru and thru, it’s aired in Sat. morning in Jpn, so…

Aoshi00 Says:

The manga has even less to do w/ the game proper, different world, diff. setting, diff. char, diff. story, drawn by Death Note’s artist Obata Takeshi… but even by his standard, the drawing is a little on the mediocre and rough side (compared to Death Note & Hikaru no Go)… Ultimately a forgettable 4 volumes…

TacoBeaver Says:

well, they made a latin spanish dub already, its coming out on march

thaKingRocka Says:

if i didn’t know any better, i would say that hollywood made this anime considering how it completely disregards the source material. and the manga? i don’t know what the hell they were shooting for with that.

game: B+
anime: D
manga: F

Dr. Slump Says:

I just read the first couple volumes of the Ral Grad manga. It’s one of the worst manga I’ve ever read. Stay away!

The anime is obviously a completely different thing, so maybe it will be fun.

It looks okay…

It might save Toonami from it’s slump. After all, now it’s lineup consists of Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, One Piece and to some exent, Goosebumps. Those shows are great (the first three are anyway.) but where get spoon fed the same thing over and over on Toonami. Toonami needs to make some new action shows, or put some more anime from Japan (good ones) on their network.

Also, I won’t be surpised if this show is going to be part of Cartoon Network’s Saturday/Sunday morning block, since they put Transformers Animated, a show that looks very suitable for Toonami, part of their morning block.

Anyway, Transformers Animated needs to be put on there, anyway…

i say it’ll take the place of dbz, that’s the only old thing.

kpkpkp Says:

Blue Dragon might be good, toonami is spoon feeding us thought, naruto and one piece aren’t bad, dbz isn’t bad, but it is not good either, and have you heard that samuri jack is back on cartoon network and toonami(i hate samurai jack a lot) DO U?
