i just tried the game for the first time, and i wasn’t really impressed. the game is overflowing with ingenuity, charm, and catchy tunes. i just didn’t have fun actually playing it. dang.

Aoshi00: I had trouble with fever mode at first too. The trick is to chant the rhythm to yourself as soon as fever mode is about to start b/c it always throws me off when they yell “Feeeeverrrr!”

Hasu: I usually have no shortage of wood, but I’m always short of rocks! I’ve found some animals that drop rocks, so I’m going to hunt them instead. I also opened the other minigame which is a bit more fun…for now.

I picked up Patapon on Friday and, honestly, I have been feeling the same. It’s so hard to put down, and I find myself thinking about the command rhythms (Pon Pata Pon Pata!!) when I’m not playing.

The thing that I find hardest is the Miracles, since you have to basically give up your Fever mode to create a miracle. And once the miracle mini-game is finished, it’s hard to pick up the rhythm quickly.

I haven’t played the tree mini-game in a while. I’ve been finding level 3 wood dropped from ‘wild game’ in the 3rd (or so) hunting grounds, so that pretty much satisfies what wood I need. I think I’ve gotten that kind of wood from the tree mini-game, but hunting is a bit more productive, since you can also get other dropped items and ka-ching points.

I only tried the demo so far. Maybe I’m just not good at rhythm games, I always lose it as soon as I hit Fever.. and keeping it up is when they do the most damage :(…

I know what you mean, it’s really one of those games you can’t seem to put down for some reason. (the songs might have something to do with it….)

too bad my sense of rythm lets me down in this game though, thanks to that my pons keep falling over, poor little things.
