Sonic goes golfing… again

sonicgolf.jpgExcept the famous blue hedgehog doesn’t chip in Sega Splash Golf. He acts as a mascot who gives tips and chases the ball in Sega’s PangYa like PC golfing game. The online game lets players control Rusk, an energetic boy who skateboards on the green, and Miel a stereotypical cutesy female character. Both can be customized to don summer wear, traditional Japanese clothes and a ninja outfit that makes Rusk look strikingly like Kage from Virtua Fighter. What’s sort of neat is the courses are Sonic inspired. Players putt in a world that looks strangely like Green Hill Zone, complete with bumpers.

Curious?  Take a peek at a trailer past the break, but take note this is for Japan only unless it gets popular enough for Sega to develop a Nintendo Wii port. Oh, and if you want Sonic to actually play golf you need to try Sonic Golf 3D.

I’d definitely look into a Wii port or sequel, and the game is near guaranteed to sell well on the Wii! It’s got Sonic, and Sonic sells on Nintendo’s consoles!
