Super remake? Super Robot Taisen Advance ported to the PSP

Seven years ago Banpresto developed Super Robot Taisen Advance, which brought mecha from Nadesico and Gundam together for the first time. On June 19th, the Game Boy Advance game is getting is a facelift when it becomes a PlayStation Portable title. The comparison screenshots make the new version easier on the eyes, but this is the second port of Super Robot Taisen Advance. The first port was a mobile phone game. Neither came to North America because of licensing issues.

Perhaps, if this port is successful, Banpresto will give Super Robot Taisen Original Generation 1 and 2 a remake as well. If (and this is a huge if) this happens there is a chance Atlus could publish the games in North America since they already have a script prepared for both episodes.

Angelous Says:

Spencer, what about the existing PS2 remake Super Robot Taisen: OG 1 & 2? I’d rather see Atlus bring that to the US.

Spencer Says:

@Angelous - Oh that would be an awesome treat, but those are probably more work since they include voice acting and such. I don’t know if Super Robot Taisen A Portable does.

wario4ever Says:

Actually from what i know the psp port of super robot taisen mx had voice acting.

for Super Robot Taisen: OG 1 & 2 to come out in the usa?wouldn’t the have to worry BandaiNamaco since there gonna merge Banpresto into them in April?

Boycott Gamestop Says:

I almost got Taisen OG 2 yesterday on eBay, but I got uber sniped.

:O(

We are seeing more and more SRPGs for NA, and this is great news for Silconerans.

Migo Says:

I would love the see the release on All Americas and Europe, but just if the Jap Dub is intact… I just love the seiyu screaming like there is no tomorrow… ” Roketuuupannnnchi!” ” burestafaiyaaaa” . But…if they Dub that… :-( the game certainly will loose one of the main appeals.. The American Dub for Jap games are too crappy.. No “anime like” performance skills
Also they need to keep the Super Robot Spirits soundtracks..
