Crystal Bearers not canceled, development “proceeding smoothly”

ffcc.jpgBack at the Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King presentation someone in the audience brought up the topic of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers. Square Enix announced this project before their WiiWare game and it seemed to vanish from the headlines. The good news is the project isn’t buried next to GBA to Gamecube connectivity.

Toshiyuki Itahana, the Art Director for the upcoming DS (well upcoming for North America) Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers, was playing the game in this photo. You can’t see anything though besides Itahana holding the remote/nunchuck though. So, I guess the Crystal Bearers uses the nunchuck? This could be actual news about the game!

Mitsuru Kamiyama, the Director of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates leaves fans with this reassuring statement, “development for both Ring of Fates and THE CRYSTAL BEARERS are proceeding smoothly!!”

As you can see it’s a post from June of 06.”

Did anyone seriously think this game was canceled? It looks so awesome and it’s already hyped. The movie we’ve seen, which was apparently ingame, looks absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to see more of this title.
