Putting together Final Fantasy VII Potion toys

By Spencer . March 7, 2008 . 9:16pm

Remember the Final Fantasy VII Potion? Last November Square Enix released a limited edition potion package, which consisted of a carbonated soft drink and a trading arts figure. I already talked about the taste of the potion, so I’m going to skip over that and get straight to the toys.

Here is a shot of three potion packages. I wonder what figures are inside…

A side view shows all the possible choices: Aerith (Crisis Core), Zack (Crisis Core), Cloud (Advent Children), Sephiroth (Advent Children), Cloud (FF7), Tifa (FF7), Reno/Rude (Before Crisis) and Vincent Valentine (Dirge of Cerberus).

The top of the package.

Let’s see what is inside!

The box containing the figure is slightly smaller than the can.

Advent Children Sephiroth in many pieces.

Dirge of Cerberus Vincent in even more pieces. Putting together Vincent was an interesting task. Unlike the other two figures Vincent does not have a center frame you stick the other parts on. You create his torso by fastening pieces of plastic on his cape. Then stick in his arm, attach the collar and solidify the figure with his long neck.

The incomplete collection.

Sweet figures, kind of like the Gashapon ones requiring assembly.

these are the times I really wished I lived in japan, to be able to pick up whacky merchandise like this at a random store.

the figures don't look half bad actually (at least from this angle :P )

I have the whole set...of the figures and cans. Too bad I never actually used the figures. They looked pretty good too.
