WiiWare debuts on March 25 with a plethora of titles

Instead of rolling out a game every week, Nintendo is stocking the WiiWare store with nine games on day one. The other good news is not all of them are 1,500 Wii Points! Only Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King rings in at $15, which makes it the most expensive game on the shop. Arc System Works’ Okiraku Ping Pong Wii and Tenshi no Solitaire (Angel's Solitaire) cost the same as a Famicom game.

Here is a list of what Japan will get on later this month. The numbers in the parentheses denotes the price.

Okiraku Ping Pong Wii (500)

Kotoba no Puzzle Mojipittan Wii (1,000)

Saku Saku Animal Panic (1,000)

Star Solider R (800)

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (1,500)

Tenshi no Solitaire (500)

Dr. Mario & Saikin Bokumetsu (1,000)

Minna no Pokemon Bokujou (1,000)

Lonpos (1,000)

Just to let you know we will be covering WiiWare games. I have a few games in mind I want to play, but I want to know what you are interested in. Please post your suggestions in the comments.

They all sound interesting.. I hope that Ping Pong game has decent control and is as fun as Tennis in Wii Sports. Kotoba puzzle sounds like a Jpn-specific game.. interested in Angel Solitaire too (for some reason I’m hoping it to be a naughty game, like the upcoming Clean Sweeper :)

Spencer Says:

@Aoshi00 - Yeah Kotoba no Puzzle Mojipittan Wii will probably stay in Japan like the rest of the Mojipittan games. I don’t think Namco Bandai has any plans to localize it. And I hate to disappoint you, but Angel Solitaire isn’t naughty ;)

I’m for Crystal Chronicles, of course! I always thought that the GC game had some problems (i.e. the 4 required GBA thing and someone having to be the bucket bitch) but when you had that rare time when you could get a game going with all of your friends, the game was quite fun. I’d like to see if this one is fun both single and multi-player.

Also, I’m a huge fan of anything Star Soldier, so I hope that one’s great. I know that our readers love 2D shooters so check this one out, Spencer!

btw vyse*

That Crystal Chronicles game is different than the one that was on a gamecube, its more of a simulator game (you build your kingdom)
Nevertheless I have my eyes for it even if id prefer the gamecube versions gameplay

jeffx Says:

can you confirm that Star Solider R is not the same crappy remake that came out on PS2/GC in 2003?

vysethebold Says:

@mikael

Yeah, I know it’s a different game but I do want to see if Crystal Chronicles progresses as a series and is going to be much better in terms of accessibility. My hope is that this game becomes the party favorite that I wanted the original to be.

I want to know more bout defend your castle, and do you know if there are any Fps or starfox assault kind announced?
thanks

EvilAkito Says:

Seeing as how I had to delete several VC games to make room for my Brawl save, I doubt I’ll be getting any WiiWare titles. Star Soldier R and FFCC look neat, but until Nintendo gives us that much-needed hard drive, I’ll save what little space I have left for game saves.

Kai Says:

Bomberman. Essentially Bomberman ‘93, but shiny and online.

Camden Says:

All of them look good, but I’m looking the most forward to FFCC: My Life as a King.

V Says:

the games that seem to be worth to buy are PING PONG, ANIMAL PANIC, STAR SOLDIER and FFC which I plan to buy. Plus I heard the games are like 40mb

TacoBeaver Says:

I rly rly need a hard drive or 20 sd cards x__x
