AQ Interactive turns the DS into a full synthesizer

By Spencer . March 12, 2008 . 2:47am

In another strange AQ Interactive partnership the company who brought Arcana Heart to PS2s is teaming up with Korg, a professional music company known for making high quality synthesizers. Their project is Korg 10-DS, a six track (four drum/two analog synth), 16-step, stylus controlled music creation tool. Additional effects like delay, chorus and flanger can be added via a mixing board.

If you need additional streams multiple copies of Korg 10-DS can controlled simultaneously through a local wireless connection. While the project is niche, I’m curious to see if electronic music junkies will form Korg 10-DS circles when it comes out in July. Oh, but wait this project is only for Japan! That’s too bad… despite the English home page AQ Interactive created up for Korg 10-DS. You know AQ Interactive has never created an English page for any of their other games…

Well at least we can see how the software works and hear a sample track in the video below.

Looks like a must-have. I was hoping something like this would come out for DS. I hope we get it in English.

  • Bartimus Baconberger

I wonder if it will allow you to export the songs created, maybe through wi-fi to email, or through the Wii connectivity?

  • NPC

This is bad ass, can’t wait to get my hands on it

That looks so cool, but so complicating! I guess the fun is discovering what sounds you can make or customize.

The sample in the video reminds me of Gyromite. I only played that game for the music, anyway.
