Mega Man Star Force 2 removes dinosaurs introduces saurians

mmsf2.jpgThis June Capcom plans to release both versions of Mega Man Star Force 2 in North America with revised subtitles. Instead of Berserker X Dinosaur and Berserker X Ninja the two games will be known as Zerker X Saurian and Zerker X Ninja respectively. I’m somewhat curious why Capcom decided to change the names. Perhaps, Berserker sounded too violent for a kid’s game? But I doubt kids recognize the word Saurian (greek for reptile), which was once used to describe dinosaurs before they were phylogenetically linked to birds.

Whatever the reason for the title change we’re getting it in North America and it doesn’t look like Capcom is adding extra content to Mega Man Star Force 2 like they did with We Love Golf. Maybe they don’t need to because Mega Man Star Force 2 already includes Nintendo Wi-Fi support for card trading, transformation assistance and wireless matches.

What happened to Megaman? I mean just look at this game.
  • @ML - Yeah, it's such a far branch off the family tree when you compare Mega Man (original) to Star Force. I never thought Mega Man would go in this direction, but the EXE/Battle Network series really got a younger generation into Mega Man.

Heh, Saurian, the Dinosaur Planet from Starfox Adventures is called Sauria in Assult.

    Possible influence eh Capcom?
