Blow “Mii” up in Bomberman for WiiWare

Yes, you or better said your Mii, can be behind the Bomberman mask in Hudson’s WiiWare version of Bomberman. A pretty clever way to distinguish your character during eight player matches if Miis can be shown during bomb dodging battles. At this point we have only Mii support when a player is crowing the winner of a match.

Probably more interesting is unlike Bomberman Live, Hudson is adding a single player quest mode on WiiWare. You can even level up your Bomberman by purchasing hearts, Fire Ups, Bomb Ups and Speed Ups with gems. Details? We really don’t have any more at the moment aside from a screenshot from a boss battle against a giant plant. However, more information should trickle out soon since Bomberman explodes on WiiWare in June… for Japan.

Update: Hero of Legend intelligently explains this Bomberman game is not for WiiWare, it's actually a retail title. Bomberman for WiiWare is coming, but it is not this. Thanks for the heads up!

it’s somewhat disturbing to see Miis throw bombs at each other with such a smile on thei face…

Hero of legend Says:

Correction, this is the retail game.

Famitsu said that, and other news sites such as IGN corrected their stories about that.

The proof is at Hudson’s Japanese website where the retail game has the June date but the WiiWare one does not.

That purchasing bit is new to me though!

Hero of legend Says:

Oh, and the Japanese Bomberman hub site confirms that Miis are in fact playable!

Aoshi00 Says:

I alrdy have Bomberman Live on the 360, but bombing the heck out of each other’s Miis sounds so hilarious, I mean I alrdy have so much fun playing Wii Tennis w/ my sis using our Miis. There’s something about tagging your face on it in a competitive game, smart move.
