Success posted a demo of Raiden Fighters Aces sitting on the Japanese Xbox Live Marketplace. If you have Gold account activated in Japan you can grab it now. Otherwise you have to wait until next week to blast ships with a curved laser when it becomes publicly available.
At this point it is unclear if the demo will be region locked like the Operation Darkness demo Success released last year. Hopefully, the digital download and the DVD which comes out on March 27 won’t.
Well if it is like the last demo they put out, by the time they decide to allow silver accounts to download it they will have region locked it.
Hope it wouldn’t be region locked, the Operation Darkness demo is just in the marketplace mocking me, and they even have Eng. commands, what a tease..
I have a Jpn 360 console and just bought a 120 gb hard drive, guess what, the data transfer kit’s driver DVD disc is region locked. So I can’t even do the transfer at the moment, that’s region lock at its worst. Figured it would be okay since I installed a 20Gb US hard drive on my Jpn 360 back then..
@ Aoshi OO: Wow, they’re even region locking minor software? That’s rediculous.
Will we ever have a “global” marketplace?

aw man, i’ve got a silver japan account. i can’t believe they’re charging full retail for this. i like these games, but in comparison to the 10 bucks each i paid for triggerheart, rez, and omega five, this comp is the anti-deal. if it’s region free, i may still pick it up when i can grab it for less. i have a jp 360, but i’m trying to get region free titles to ease the transition to an american system. don’t know when that’ll happen though since so many titles are region free.
