Return to Ivalice in June with Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift

ffa2.jpgSquare Enix is localizing Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift and North America gets to play it on June 24. An apt release date since school is out, but not for Luso Clemens, the protagonist, who is stuck in detention. During his punishment Luso discovers a book that acts as a gateway to Ivalice. He runs into Al-Cid from Final Fantasy XII who won’t be the only familiar face. Vaan and Penelo make a post-Revenant Wings appearance too.

New for North America is complete touch screen control where all menus and battle commands can be done with the stylus. No new classes? I guess I shouldn’t be greedy considering the long list of jobs already in the game.

Dr. Slump Says:

I hope it has more of a story than FFTA.

jeffx Says:

Any word on the multiplayer aspect? Wifi notably? One of my friends is a big FFT fan.

Spencer Says:

@jeffx - I hate to dissapoint you, but the Japanese version did not include Nintendo Wi-Fi battles. I doubt the North American build will unless Square Enix has a trump card up their sleeve. Actually, there isn’t any kind of mutiplayer fighting in FFTA2, but there is a fetch quest that Rolando talks about where you trade Clan Memos.

Boycott Gamestop Says:

Waiting for this to buy a(nother) DS!

Can’t wait.

The corrupt Says:

WHAT!? No wifi! Dont they realize how many people would buy if it did have wifi? That was a very stupid move for square enix to think of. I hope they come up with something soon, I know at least 35% more people would buy it if it had more wifi, its a perfect game for wifi, they really messed up this time.
