Summon Night ® Twin Age & © Namco Bandai Games

banpresto.jpgI’m not sure if this was mentioned or not, but on the bottom of the Summon Night press release Namco Bandai is mentioned as the copyright holder instead of Banpresto.

It reads, “(C) FLIGHT-PLAN SUMMON NIGHT (R) TWIN AGE &(C) 2007 NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc. Published and distributed by Atlus USA.”

This shouldn’t be a surprise because Banpresto was supposed to be fully absorbed into Namco Bandai by April 1, 2008. The upside is Atlus still has a good relationship with the folks working at Banpresto/Namco Bandai. And as long as the two publishers are working together there is hope for localizations of the Summon Night DS games, Super Robot Taisen: Original Generations and Draglade 2.

Hero of legend Says:

Honestly, the only thing that’s bugging me is that it says Copyright “2007″!

It’s 2008, hello there, stop living in the past! XD

I know, I’m weird! :P

It’s obvious due the game’s release in Japan was back in 2007.

But if it’s owned by NB, wouldn’t hey have received the copyright this year as they are absorbing Banpresto in April? Maybe they already did that last year?

Hello Hello Says:

I’m glad that Namco-Bandai is open to licencing former Banpresto titles to other North American publishers. I’m still hoping that NIS America has gotten the licence for Ar tonelico II.
