Atari teaches DS owners how to drive

atari.jpgMost odd training games come from Japan where you can master everything from cooking to the history of the Japanese rail system. Driving Theory Training originates in the United Kingdom and it’s coming out this summer to help anxious teens study for their driver's license test. Atari’s project really is a bunch of tests crammed onto a DS cartridge, officially licensed Driving Standards Agency tests, but it’s just a bundle of tests and trivia.

I’m amused to see the infectious trend of wacky training games isn’t limited to Japan. However, I think Atari would have had better luck if they release Driving Theory Training as a Wii game bundled with a Wii Wheel. The whole thing could be like Mario Kart, but educational. That kind of marketing tagline is sure to attract parents.

I don’t own a car, but I should at least get a license.
