Data Design, the company who made a name for themselves publishing Wii shovelware, has Battle Rage: The Robot Wars in development and (gasp) it might be decent. I know it’s easy to write off a game from a company rolling in dough from Ninjabread man, but the original title wasn’t developed internally. Battle Rage: The Robot Wars is a port of a PC game (pictured). Data Design is handling the Wii version, which is supposed to transfer “all aspects of the original game” to the Wii.

Translation: a third person robot shooting game that probably includes waggle. There is an excessively long back story that deals with space travel, an evil corporation, people bored with TV and convicts fighting for freedom just to set up the fights. It’s largely unnecessary because all Data Design needs to say is “Robot Fighting Arena” to get any real attention. If it’s fast like Virtual On and the controls are smooth Batte Rage: The Robot Wars will have no problem selling itself in Europe and later North America when some publisher like DSI Games distributes it.
