Nippon Ichi is adding multiplayer battles to Disgaea DS, but as of now the only mode revealed is a one on one wireless fight between two players. Before the altercation begins, players can set level caps and other handicaps to balance the encounter. Unfortunately the wireless battles are limited to local play only since Nippon Ichi is not taking advantage of Nintendo Wi-Fi.
As of now, this news is for Japan only. Hopefully, NIS America squeaks Nintendo Wi-Fi play in for North America. Remember NIS America went back to the drawing board for Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness and added multiplayer combat.
Also the Japanese box art is on the right and it doesn’t reveal any secret characters like Mao from Disgaea 3 who I suspect will make a cameo.
@Keii - Summer 2008 for North America and Japan is the target.
nice cover art, but the laharl in the logo reminds me of the firefox icon o.O
@nika
OMG You’re Right! That would be an awesome Firefox replacement icon too.
Multiplayer content or not, I’m really looking forward to this game. I’ve yet to find a copy of HoD (plus I play SRPGs most on handhelds, which is why I haven’t finished Disgaea 2) so I’m very excited to play this on DS.
@ nika - indeed, but that’s not a bad thing in my book.
As for this game… I still wish it was another game than a port, but even if it is… I wish it had extra content, single player-wise ( yet another story segment) like the PSP had (I’m aware the DS has the extra content the PSP has, but since I think I’ll get the PSP version soon… the deal for this one is still not sweetened enough for me (although I’ll most likely buy it)
