Shinobi line up to join Naruto Shippuden: Shinobi Retsuden II

narutosr.jpgAfter my disdain for Naruto: Shinobi Retsuden I’m extremely hesitant about the sequel. Sure, the frame rate is cleared up (now 60 FPS) and a single player mode. However, the fighting system is, at best, basic. Maybe more characters will spice up the action?

The cast in Naruto Shippuden: Shinobi Retsuden II grows to 30. The original Japanese version had a meager selection 13. So far Naruto, Sakura, Sai, Yamato and Sasuke are confirmed, which leaves us to speculate about 25 of the other characters. Tsunade, Orochimaru and Jiraiya are shoe-ins for Naruto: Shippuden: Shinobi Retsuden II since we saw them in Naruto: Ninja Destiny. Actually, we probably will see all of the characters in Naruto: Ninja Destiny just in their older Shippuden incarnations. Even if that logic holds true there are plenty of character slots for Tomy to utilize.

Bleh. Character wise however, i’m asuming we’re probably looking at the same character list thats in EX 2 on the Wii seeing as that’s 30 characters as well and being the same company.

I’m afraid we’ll see the roster from the previous game plus a few from Shippuden. Since most of them will be older version of the others, the roster will not be very interesting. And since the gameplay will be a little enhancement of the previous one, I’m staying away from this.

If it had special attacks (Gaara’s Sand, Yamato’s Wood, Temari’s Wind) in normal combo’s it’d be more interesting as there would actually be a difference between playing different characters. What’s the point of having different characters in if they don’t play any different?
