Activision imitates American Idol for Guitar Hero contest

With all the news about Rock Band coming to the Wii it’s easy to overlook Guitar Hero. Activision bent on not letting their franchise stray from the spotlight opened up a campaign Rock Icon contest where Guitar Hero fans are invited to add themselves as a character in the next Guitar Hero. Well, not themselves exactly, a rocked out version of themselves. Lemmy von Motörhead is responsible for sorting through the videos to pick a winner who gets a tour of Neversoft on top of an avatar included in Guitar Hero. If you’re interested pull out a webcam and submit your video by the 11^th of April and erase thoughts of dressing up like mummy musician. It’s done in the American Idol mock up video below.
