Mission complete, inside the Crisis Core launch party

I didn’t make it to the Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII launch party, but Siliconera reader, RagolSlayer did. For everyone who wasn’t at the Metreon, RagolSlayer did us a huge favor by taking pictures of the party and writing up a report that I can’t take any credit for. He notes:

RagolSlayer here. Went to the Crisis Core launch party today at the Metreon and I thought you might want to see a few pics of the event. It was mainly a waiting in line event. I got there at about 2PM and there were already about 80 or so people there (I was 84th in line.) The Sony people came out and had a trivia challenge for people in line – if you got a question correct, you got a Shinra UMD case. Most questions were based off of stuff from VII, but some also came from Advent Children, too.

So people started getting in at six and it took me about an hour of waiting to get inside. After that, got my Shinra ID card and T-Shirt and listened to who won the raffle (I didn't win anything.), and then left. So, all in all:

6 hours waiting in line; 30 minutes of launch party time.

Six hours of waiting for a thirty minute party? You deserve a reward for your effort and sharing this with the Siliconera community. Check your e-mail :).

RagnolSlayer, thanks again for being a citizen journalist and I hope that Shinra Electric Company shirt fits you!

wow. good thing the game doesn’t suck as much as that party did.

  • Aoshi00

    Very cool Shira shirt!

I feel you, last time I waited outside Nintendo store for 5-6 hrs and didn’t even get to go in to meet Miyamoto :(..

The game’s okay, I think the main draw is the tragic story and the nostalgia. So I hear one still can’t skip the FMVs..

  • wow that sux pretty badly for you. hmmm i wonder what the prize was for the raffle drawing. but oh well. i think u deserve alot more then just a Shinra T-shirt and an Shinra ID card. oh well atleast you got something out of it

Haha I was at that. I ended up number 97. Compared to the people at the front who got to stay in much much longer, the later numbers only got a bit of time to play. =/

  • Yeah, the launch party was pretty bad – it felt like it was merely an outlet to sell copies of the game rather than an actual launch party. I was disappointed there were only two cosplayers, but at least they kept us entertained while we were in line. =D

@Hitosura – They had about four different prizes for the raffle – Advent Children movie posters, an Advent Children movie poster + Advent Children movie on UMD, stuff from the Square Enix store like the Soldier First Class keychain, a figurine from FFVII (I forgot which one.) and ten lithographs of the cast of Crisis Core. There’s only twenty of them in existence, I believe.
