Space Invaders take over Yahoo Japan

April Fools' Day is almost over. Actually, it's long over in Japan. Did you catch the adver-gag set up between Taito Japan and Yahoo Japan? In case you missed it you can still see the Space Invaders crush Yahoo, kick the articles out of frame and blow up the icons. After they destroy the homepage, infused with news about Space Invaders, you get a chance for vengeance by playing a mouse controlled game of Space Invaders.

 

This is a very clever way to advertise Space Invaders Extreme and the best non-false news sight I’ve seen. The Irem Zoo was pretty hilarious too, but the prank with pictures of photoshopped animals is long gone.
