Sengoku Basara Cross clashes on the PlayStation 2

sc.jpgCapcom isn’t about to miss an opportunity to release a home version of Sengoku Basara Cross. Instead of making it a digital download, Sengoku Basara Cross will come out on a PlayStation 2 disc on June 26. Fans of the series can opt to pick up a bundle with limited edition items like illustrated cards and a voice CD for 2,100 yen ($21) over the disc only release. The game alone retails for 6,290 yen ($63).

I suppose a disc release gives Capcom USA a chance to localize Sengoku Basara Cross, but chances are it won’t happen. After Devil Kings, Capcom hasn’t said a word about Sengoku Basara 2 or Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes. I wonder if Aksys will pick this up since they are tight with Arc System Works, i.e the developers.

    Getting this. Without a doubt.

    i don’t get it. if the limited edition is 2100 yen, why is the game alone so much more expensive?

    @scatch – the limited edition is 2,100 yen OVER (i.e. more than) the disc alone version.

    “opt to pick up a bundle with limited edition items like illustrated cards and a voice CD for 2,100 yen ($21) over the disc only release.”

    the problem with the language here is that “over” is ambiguous since it is also used as a preference word, especially combined with a verb of choice. it can be read essentially that we can “opt to pick up A over B.” it seems to take the place of “rather than.” this is likely how most people would read it since “over” is not used so frequently in terms of price, unless you want to count the separate word “overpriced.” for clarity’s sake, why not just put the two full MSRPs?

    oh yeah, btw.

    i’m looking forward to grabbing a copy of this game. i think i’ll wait though to see if it gets an american release since i got burned on arcana heart. cmon, who would’ve expected that one to come over here?

    @Icupnimpn

    Well, actually, Capcom’s only publishing Sengoku Basara Cross. It’s developed by Arc System Works, the company behind the Guilty Gear series.
