Yes, darkness turns Sonic into a beast

While we’re talking about Sonic the Hedgehog, an official trailer from Sonic Unleashed with “Were-Sonic” has been making rounds around the internet. The leaked screenshots spoiled this surprise, but I’m wondering what you think of this. Is Sega making a bold and intelligent move to turn the Sonic franchise upside down? Or is this too reminiscent of the Legend of ~~Sonic~~ Zelda: Twilight Princess?

The idea from Zelda was not really original from the beginning, I think it fits Sonic better. Anyway, I don't think they were inspired by Zelda.

Darker does not always equal better. What is it with all the angst factor being injected into even light hearted games now? Yes, heroes must be mad,depressed, jaded, or pretty bad boys with huge swords and flashy guns to get noticed. (rolls eyes)

Hopefully the game will be great and prove my cynicism wrong. We really need a good 3D Sonic game.

Isn't it suppose to be a 2.5d, aka 2d, sonic game? I hope so. I hope they haven't decided to make a darker and edgier Sonic, or at least I hope it isn't going to be T or even E 10+ rated. I want a game to play with my (young) kids.
