Hoping to pick up Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots Limited Edition? Konami is only giving copies to Gamestop and it costs $84.99. For comparison’s sake the game alone costs $59.99 when it comes out on June 12. The extra $25 goes towards packaging designed by Yoji Shinkawa, a soundtrack CD and a Blu-ray disc with two making of Metal Gear Solid 4 documentaries. One of the features includes an interview with Hideo Kojima. If you pre-order either version you are entitled to a Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2 DVD and a beta code for Metal Gear Online.
The $85 price tag for the limited edition is depressingly amusing since Japan pays around that price for the standard edition of Metal Gear Solid 4. Konami Computer Entertainment Japan stuck MGS 4 with an 8,800 yen price tag ($86). The limited edition retails for 9,800 yen ($96) in the land of the rising sun. Yes, the dollar to yen exchange rate is that bad.
