Final Fantasy IV was a shoe in for an international release. We knew it was coming, but on July 22? That fast? Square Enix isn’t wasting anytime here with a mere seven months between regions.
Differences? The announcement didn’t mention any episodes of Final Fantasy IV: The After or an option for the Japanese voices. There are some naming changes, though. The ability switching Decant system will be further known as the Augment System. Also Rydia’s new mini-game powered summon, Pochika, will be named Whytkin. I’m relieved Square Enix USA isn’t upping the difficulty like they did with Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings. There are times in Final Fantasy IV where you will die, especially if you memorized the boss patterns from any other release.
If you want to hear more about the experience check out my impressions from the Japanese version of Final Fantasy IV.

Day one for me too :) and whats even greater is that the dollar value keeps decreasing, its crazy
Can’t believe I’m saying this, too fast. Still haven’t finished the import yet :(… Better get on it.
BTW, one can’t view the movie theater at any time like Jeanne d’arc, it’s actually during certain points of the game when you bump into Namingway (& his different names).
Awesome news. I’ll be picking it up on day one as well. I can only hope they give the same treatment to FF V and IV.
Also, hopefully this is a good sign that we’ll see Dragon Quest IV released this Fall!
I wouldn’t say “that fast” considering it will be 7 months, and they recently said they want to speed up their international releases. It’s still really good, don’t get me wrong! Day one as well for me, and DQIV too! If FF4 is any indication, DQ4 should be out in the same time frame.
Day one purchase for me as well, but I wouldn’t call a 7-month wait “fast.” My reaction is “what the hell took so long?” Square Enix really needs to embrace the concept of a world-wide release.
same with me, Day one also … and as said about the decrease of the dolar, we can celebreat
Ditto for me too. FFIV is one of the best RPGs ever made.
Btw, will Namco be releasing “Tales of Innocence” anytime soon? You would think that Namco would localize such an awesome RPG. I really hope it comes to the USA.
^ NO they won’t, because namco is dumb: Tales of Innocence is not coming.
they said like 2 days ago they have no plans for it.

Day one, for sure. FFIV is my favorite FF game, so there’s no way I’m missing out on this.
