The Mario Kart Wii leaderboard glitch in ghastly action

By Spencer . April 13, 2008 . 7:24pm

Online play in Mario Kart Wii is smooth. Only a tiny bit of lag effects twelve player races. However, the world ranking system has issues. A glitch allows players to drive a single lap then wait by the finish line while sitting in reverse. Glancing through the rankings, it looks like Nintendo is actively removing these times off the leaderboards, but you can see the glitch in the video below.

After I got a chance to play Brawl I sold my Wii. This does little to make me regret that choice :-\

nika Says:

you sold it?! no, how could you? [/drammatic]

ah I really need to get my hands on the game, mario kart always makes for a good party game. though, Is that the music that you hear when you ride the tracks? if so that dissapoints me a little. everything looks nice though ^-^

Social Says:

No that’s not the music you hear during the racing, that’s during the menu’s. He just used it

TacoBeaver Says:

I already heard bout this and JUSTIN WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?????

Stigtrix Says:

I’ve tried the game online and all and was extremely disappointed
when I found out that there were cheaters from day one.
I’ll never cheat because it ruins the whole thing.
However, the people at Nintendo are deleting records done with cheats atm and they will probably come with a solution that will disable cheating for good.
Let’s all cross our fingers for that!
Maybe the later releases will have the problems fixed?
Only Shigeru knows…

Cold greeting from Norway ;)

Bob Says:

Dude I don’t see what is wrong about that. I don’t get it. I just got the game today though so someone please explain it to me.

Stigtrix Says:

Bob, Bob, Bob!
You don’t see what’s wrong about people ruining the online experience by cheating? They don’t play fair and make people quit playing time trials and get new records. They ruin the whole thing!
If you can’t see what’s wrong with that, there’s obviously something wrong with you…

To nika and Social:
No, the music in the vidoe is only played when you watch replays - and thank God for that! The new music is alright, with some memorable tracks.
