Microsoft pushes Xbox Live subscriptions with 630,000 point giveaway

xlapoint.jpgMicrosoft wants Japan to “feel the Live” and they are spending nearly eight grand to push their online service. The catch is this promotion requires a purchase. Actually, two purchases. First you have to be a registered member of Xbox Live with a Japanese account for three or twelve months. Then you have to purchase at least 100 Microsoft Points during the contest period. You have to register your account here too.

Complete these tasks and you will be eligible to win 35,000 Microsoft Points ($437 or enough to clean out Xbox Live Arcade games sitting on the Japanese Xbox Live Marketplace) if you’re a yearly live subscriber or 7,000 Microsoft Points ($87) if you’re only sticking around for three months. Microsoft will draw five winners in each category during three periods.

Round one: April 14 – May 14

Round two: May 15 – June 1

Round three: June 1 – June 30

Unfortunately this promotion is only valid for Xbox 360 owners in Japan. Owners of Japanese Xbox 360 accounts in other regions may have a chance to enter.
