Super Mario Galaxy and Wii Fit coming to Korea by the end of 2008

wiikr.jpgI mentioned Korea’s Nintendo Wii launch line up yesterday, which is surprisingly light on first party games. Wii Sports and Wii Play are the only Nintendo published games if you don’t count Virtual Console titles. Zack & Wiki, Super Swing Golf 2nd Season and Elebits will be responsible for launching the Wii in South Korea.

In the future Nintendo will release Super Mario Galaxy, Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree, Mario & Sonic at the Bejing Olympics and Wii Fit in Korea by the end of this year. While these titles are old news for most of the world, Nintendo is putting their Seoul office to good use with localized versions of some of their top selling games.

Like us, Impress Watch noticed the absence of the news channel, weather channel, internet channel and other downloadable channels from Korea’s Wii channel selection. Nintendo has not announced any plans regarding localized versions of channels currently available in other regions or WiiWare. However, it is easy to imagine Nintendo releasing them on the shopping channel as downloadable content when they are ready.
