AtomSonic appears in Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst
I know this isn’t the first time Sonic popped into Phantasy Star Online, but in case you missed a photo opportunity Sega’s primary mascot is coming back for another cameo. You can find him and Tails in the game for on the next three Fridays. More specifically those dates are: April 18, April 25 and May 2.
Unfortunately, this news is relevant for few people since the US servers for Phantasy Star Blue Burst are offline. Well, if you’re in Japan and still play Phantasy Star Online your PSO avatar can meet Sonic.

Most likely they didn’t want to put a days work into making models for a cameo, so they just took the newest thing that the engine could render easily.

Unfortunately this is nothing special, considering these very models have been available in the game since… dreamcast v1. Who would’ve thought a rereleased game would reuse content. le gasp
They are infact NOT duplicates of the SA2 models.

Is that screen actually from Blue Burst?
Pretty Dreamcast-esc if you ask me!
But WOW, Sonic and Tails are in their Adventure 2 models! O_O
