There has been some mystery about a “tournament kit” item bundled with the special edition of Soulcalibur IV. The official announcement didn’t explain the item in detail and in case you were waiting on bated breath to hear what it is, we found out. It’s a tournament bracket card.
However uneventful this information is, we discovered something else about the Soulcalibur IV limited edition. The t-shirt you get tucked in the tin is different if you purchase the PlayStation 3 version or the Xbox 360 release. Buy the Xbox 360 version and you get Yoda/Siegfried on a white shirt. PlayStation 3 purchasers get Mitsurugi/Darth Vader on a black tee. Both shirts are unfortunately only in size XL.

wow… the 1up yours guys were joking that it was a bracket card on their podcast… to think that’s what it really is…
What the dumb shit? $30 for that?
I bet its Single elimination, and not Double elimination.
@Andrew - Hahaha. Yeah, I’ll cue up to get my Yoda “dress”. I really wish Namco Bandai and anyone giving out t-shirts would give people a coupon to mail to the publisher and get a shirt in their actual size.
It kinda makes you wonder if publishers are a tad out of touch with gamers. I suppose the idea is that the XL shirt will shrink and that it’s also a, uh, precaution for those XL gamers. If the “custom content” that is said to also be included in the CE version is what many speculate (letting each console DL the other’s exclusive char.), then it’ll be worth it, imo, along with the hardcover art book. The tournie card, however, is the biggest joke and is what made me pose the “out of touch” line at the beginning. Do they really think gamers are so inept that we cannot take out a piece of paper and pencil (or even use simple computer skills) to create tournie brackets ourselves?
@SpookyFish,
Oh c’mon, only if you have the equipment to do the job. Sure we got the skills, but one has to have the right equipment to pull it off. If we don’t even have a decent colour laser printer, how can we print our masterpiece out in a way that it is analogous to the quality of the tournie card presented in the special edition? C’mon again, we aren’t all rich or well off that there are two or three colour laser printers sitting around our homes. Correct me if I am wrong. If we can reproduce these cards easily with a decent desktop and a bubble jet printer, then we need those guys that planned this special edition fired or on probation, coz that’s really ridiculous.
Confused…..I want the game lol thats what every body wants but I could care less about the TEE ( size really is a disipointment) the tin? Cmon I could make a better tin myself, the bracket card? OMG like a cheapo yugioh card or something, but what does the voucher unlock? I mean like some extras in the game would be great but we have no idea what it unlocks do we? If anyone does please tell me but think about this..About a month into the sales of SCIV the vouchers purpose will be revealed and then! We could decide if its worth it or not and you could probably find the voucher on ebay about two weeks into the sales. So I think that this is just a waste of money, Im not cheap when something is worth it but this dosnt seem worth it. Is what im trying to say wait for some retard to buy this and figure out what the voucher does (for those like me who dont know) then we will know so I would hold on to your wallets and purses boys and girls cause this thing gives Soul Calibur IV and NAMCO a bad name.
