vc.jpgLike the living watercolor feel of Valkyria Chronicles? Then Sega has a PlayStation 3 theme for you. Actually, make that a trio of PS3 themes. Right now you can download the Valkyria Chronicles custom theme (pictured), which was quietly released on the official site on April 1st.

The Vakyria Chronicles custom theme (icon version) was just released to celebrate the game’s launch in Japan. Then on May 30th Sega will release the third theme, Valkyria Chronicles custom theme (militia version). To get the second theme you need to have a Japanese PlayStation Network account. However, you can get the first theme without any hassle by heading to the official site clicking on download then custom thema.

Cain Highwind Says:

Huh? I’m kind of a PS3 newbie here, so you can go to websites via the web browser and download themes?

Spencer Says:

@Cain - I don’t know if a direct download would work, but if you follow the instructions you can download the Valkyria Chronicles theme file then copy it on to your PS3 with the help of a memory stick/SD card or other input device. Does that make more sense?

Cain Highwind Says:

Ah okay, thanks, that sounds much easier anyway. ^_^

Darrien Says:

Yes, a direct download from the PS3’s native browser will install themes in the proper place. It’s the only way I’ve gone about putting themes on there, actually, because I don’t have to even think about folder structure or anything but Download… However, it WILL NOT let you perform a theme download in the background.

Of course, this only applies if the downloaded file is in the proper format (.p3u or something similar to it, I forget off-hand), and not in some kind of zip or rar or such.

I tried going on the website http://valkyrie.jp w/ the PS3 browser, but the “download page” wouldn’t load? When the page first loads up, it asks me do I want to install plug-in and I chose yes. Any settings I need to mess with?
