With the unlikely mash up of Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Collin Chou it’s easy to overlook numerous video game references in the movie. Well, when one of the kids holds up an Xbox 360 and says “look, I found your new Xbox” or something to that magnitude and Jason, the young boy who needs martial arts for confidence, mentions Virtua Fighter 2 I had to turn a blind eye.
However, the best reference is also the most subtle. In the first five minutes of the movie, after Jason wakes up from his dream, you can see a Dreamcast on the left hand corner of the screen underneath his TV.
The Dreamcast lives! (as a movie prop).

That movie with Adam Sandler is called “Reign Over Me”, or something along those lines. I haven’t watched it yet.
Also, that Dreamcast was the first thing I noticed when they showed his room in the movie. I even side-nudged my girlfriend and mentioned it. XD
my dreamcast proudly sits with the current gen players, and, in my opinion, it outshines the waggly white one by quite a bit.

Cool, I’ll keep an eye out when I go see the movie later.
I think the only time a video game is being portrayed in a movie correctly (not two kids playing FF together w/ Tetris background music or something to that effect) was when Adam Sandler was playing Shadow of the Collosus. I forgot the movie title, he was depressed after the 911 tragedy and they show lots of footage of him bringing down the collosi, I thought that was way cool.
