I wrote about Windy X Windam before when glancing over Success Corp’s summer retail list, but at that time no information was revealed about what the game was about. DS Fanboy points out a forum thread on Shoryuken discovered the details before Success could give Windy X Windam a proper announcement.

Windy X Windam is a 2D fighting game developed by Ninja Studio, the same team who makes the Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja series of roguelikes on the DS. Naturally, (?) Izuna and Shino from their other Nintendo DS series will make cameos. It is unknown if Ninja Studio will include other characters from their numerous cell phone strategy RPGs, but it’s a fair possibility. The other fighters shown in the screenshots are known as Ashley, Big and Jack. Windy X Windam will also include wireless play with a single card.

Interesting and unexpected, just the kind of thing up Atlus’ alley.

Rolando Says:

Izuna and Shino are also secret recruitable characters in Rondo of Swords. Cotton is, too. Do you remember Cotton?

Spencer Says:

@Rolando - Really? Izuna, Shino and the TurboGrafx character are in Rondo of Swords? Now that’s surprising news! Are they any good?

Rolando Says:

Izuna and Cotton are better than some of your actual party members, but Shino’s the one who has a ton of advantages.

*adds Rondo of Swords to shopping list*

Anyway, even if this fighting game turns out to be crap, I’ll have to buy it just because Izuna is in it.

@Hayama Akito - Thanks for doing all the work digging this information up for us :)
