Two months until Persona 4 comes out in Japan and while we’re waiting on Atlus to decide if the latest installment is worth localizing take a look at the opening movie. You can see some (most?) of the main characters in the clip, which includes a tough guy, pop star and the obligatory cute mascot character, a waddling bear.
There aren’t many personae to see though. Izanagi, the protagonist’s persona, is prominently featured and it looks like Hotsuma’s (from Sega’s PlayStation 2 Shinobi game) cousin. When the characters are in shadow form you can see them wielding weapons. Yousuke is wearing headphones while playing with kunai, Chie does a spinning kick, Yukiko dances with a fan and another character draw a pistol. Perhaps, this is a clue to their respective weapons?

In the latest EGM (June ‘08 I believe), “Quarter Man” (rumors guy) says that Persona 4 will hit the US before the end of 2008. Let hope they’re right.

Oh no, Paramouneitta’s version of that video has bad sound quality. I was certain there is another one with more views and better sound floating out there.
[…] Siliconera points out that each characters weapons may be hinted at in this video. Good eye! […]
Anime design in Persona 4 looks better than P3 but i still preferring the opening theme “Burn my dread”.
@Angelous
P3 took so long to be localized. It probably won’t happen anytime soon.
laharsama: I actually liked the design from P3 quite a lot.
Why oh why do mascot charas seem to be a must in rpgs? here’s hoping this one isn’t too annoying.
