Policenauts pops up in the PlayStation Archives

pnaut.jpgSony’s PlayStation Store update in Japan is short, but sweet. Three games are joining the always growing list of downloadable PsOne games and one of them is Policenauts. Like Snatcher before it, Policenauts is a graphical adventure game developed by Hideo Kojima. Players start out in Los Angeles, 2040 as a private investigator that was lost during the construction of a space colony. During the investigation Jonathan has to draw his gun, which can be controlled by the PlayStation mouse.

Nectaris, better known as Nectaris: Military Madness in North America, is new this week too. Should I pick a futuristic strategy game or a futuristic murder investigation? Choices!

Here is what you can get for 600 yen ($5):

Very curious about Policenauts, been hearing about it forever. Finally need to import some PSN point cards. Too bad I could never find those treasure chest give-aways on the Jpn PSN store :(..

CRIMExTHINK Says:

Is there any translation for Snatcher and Policenauts? I see there’s an article about a fan translation (for Policenauts) in the “Related posts” section. Unfortunately, the translation still isn’t finished, according to the group’s website.

As a fan of Kojima’s work, I would very much like to play these games but I still don’t know the Japanese language enough to do so. Yet.

Spencer Says:

@CRIMExTHINK - Snatcher has an official translation from Konami if you can find a copy of the Sega CD version. If you’re going to track that down you should probably get the Justifer / Lethal Enforcers light gun too, it makes the experience better.

As for Policenauts no official translation has been completed to my knowledge :(.
