I suppose this announcement shouldn’t be a surprise since we broke the Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia news last month after I discovered a trademark for the title. However, now we have more details about the game since it isn’t a port of Castlevania: Order of Shadows. The third Nintendo DS Castlevania game has a heroine, Shinoa, who is part of Ecclesia, an organization out to kill Dracula. Using the new Glyph system Shinoa will be able to use multiple attacks simultaneously to fight back against Dracula’s army of creatures. The item hunting quest will take Shinoa outside and through 20 areas.
One player’s trash becomes (virtual) cash thanks to Nintendo Wi-Fi item selling. In Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia you can place obsolete equipment online and purchase new gear with virtual currency. Once you outfit Shinoa you can compete in head-to-head challenges over Nintendo Wi-Fi too.
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia is scheduled to arrive in North America this fall. Perhaps, around the same time as the still unannounced Castlevania Judgment?
