Disaster adverted, Disaster: Day of Crisis delayed not cancelled

I’m guessing most of you probably know this by now, but Disaster: Day of Crisis won’t be appearing in Japan on July 3rd. However, Nintendo’s statement doesn’t have the pejorative overtone the words “delayed indefinitely”, as stated by another website, imply.

Here’s the official press release, in Japanese of course. It explains Disaster: Day of Crisis is being held back so Monolith Soft has additional development time to improve the game. Unlike the Super Smash Brothers delay announcement Nintendo is not offering new release date for Disaster: Day of Crisis, so it’s technically “TBA”. However, Nintendo isn’t burying the game in an early grave. Well, at least for Japan.

North America is an entirely different story. For better or worse, Nintendo of America has chosen not to localize many games published by Nintendo of Japan.

I don’t like the eXtreme look of that protagonist (tribal tattz and all) but otherwise I’m looking forward to this!

I want to be excited about this game, but at this point, it has a bit of a Geist-vibe. All of these delays make me wonder if the development team is struggling to make a fun game, but can’t quite nail it.

I liked geist

I don’t think it’s fair to say that NoA has chosen not to publish many NCL Wii games. There are only two JPN-released Wii games not yet localized; Eyeshield 21, which is a licenced property, and Common Knowledge Training TV. CKT TV is recent enough that it’s possible the game will be localized at some point and just hasn’t been announced yet.

i hope that all games will release soon w_w but, as we all know, that want happen soon

It’s better late than never, I think that Nintendo is very serious about the game and it’s impossible that so easily they will cancel it. Expect it this year…possibly in the end of Summer.

Visionnerz Says:

Eh… havent I seen that cover system before? Seriously, though.. it’s getting a bit boring I don’t think it would work well in a game like this. I think I’ll just stick to Irem’s ‘disaster’ games.
