Electronic Arts as a tourist attraction, inside the EA Experience

Victoria Peak is one of the sightseeing spots in Hong Kong. After taking a fifteen minute tram ride you can see a stunning view of the city. Before you can climb up to view the city lights you run into the EA Experience.

On the first floor of the Peak Tower is a giant plastic bubble with multiple kiosks of Electronic Arts games. There wasn’t anything “new” to play that I haven’t seen before, but the layout was kind of neat so I took a bunch of photos for everyone to see.

However, the store did contain some neat items aside from rows and rows of t-shirts with the EA logo.

Inside display cases there were autographed games and sports memorabilia.

This case contained all of the games related to the Sims franchise to date.

Plenty of games were sold in the EA Experience store too and many of them are at a slight discount. US versions of Boom Blox were priced at $300 HKD which equates to $38. Boom Blox usually costs $50 in the US.

This framed piece of art from SSX3 is one of the novelties you can purchase.

Here is a look at the dome from the inside.

In this picture you can see the plastic bubble is surrounded by LCD monitors playing trailers for EA games.

The second level of the EA Experience has a bunch of demo stations. There are pods people can step into to play Half Life 2, Command and Conquer 3 and a few PCs with various titles. The floating LCD TV was used to run demos of Boom Blox.

There were a few mystery boxes like this cabinet with a webcam that wasn’t running any games.

This driving game was the only thing close to an “experience” at the EA Experience, but only one player can actually drive the car. I passed on waiting to play it and went to the top floor to see the night sky.
