Super Robot Taisen Advance vs. Super Robot Taisen A Portable

By Spencer . May 29, 2008 . 9:07am

On June 12 the Banpresto label of Namco Bandai has another game in the Super Robot Taisen series coming to the PSP. However, if you own a Game Boy Advance and regularly import you may have seen Super Robot Taisen A Portable before since the game is really a remake of Super Robot Taisen Advance. Check out the movies below to see how the visuals stack up against each other. The clip from the GBA game is on top and the PSP promotional movie is on the bottom.

The extended animated attacks make the PSP version look much prettier, but a Super Robot Taisen connoisseur may want to skip visiting the Advance parallel universe again. Hori has another way to spend your money on Super Robot Taisen stuff. An accessory pack with a clear case and soft PSP pouch comes out on the same day.

This is the first new SRW game since I’ve started playing them, so I’m psyched for this.

(The Hori accessory pack comes out the week after, though)

Has Banpresto announced any intention to localize the PSP re-release of SRT?

Darrien Says:

Won’t happen. Copyright hell. Only one that has a chance at coming over at the moment is SRT: Original Generations for the PS2. Of course, the PSP is region-free and all, and I’m sure there will be FAQs for translation.

Blasted legal issues.

Phil Says:

Crud, I misread - I thought this was for SRT:OG. I was under the impression there was a PSP port of those two games being done, too.
