Super Mario RPG on Japan’s Virtual Console in June

smrpg.jpgJust because WiiWare is stealing headlines, the Virtual Console isn’t dead. Nintendo still has buckets of classics to release and Super Mario RPG is one of them. Japan will see the Squaresoft and Nintendo collaboration on the Virtual Console sometime in July with premium pricing. Super Mario RPG commands a price tag of 900 Wii Points ($9) instead of the usual 800 Wii Points ($8).

I’m translating the rest of the Virtual Console list as you’re reading this so check this space for the full list soon.

And here is the full list for June! Games marked with an asterisk will come out on June 3rd.

Famicom (500 Wii Points)
Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa *
Transformers: Convoy no Nazo
Nekketsu Koko Dodgeball Bu
Yoshi's Cookie

Super Famicom (usually, 800 Wii Points)
Super Mario RPG (900)

Sega Master System (500)
Rambo* (called Ashura in Japan)

Mega Drive (usually, 600 Wii Points)
Phantasy Star IV (700)

PC Engine (600 Wii Points)
Power Tennis*
Days of Thunder (800)
Paranoia
Blazing Lazers

Neo Geo (900 Wii Points)
King of the Monsters*
Ninja Commando
Art of Fighting 2

MSX
Eggy (delayed until further notice)

I can't believe Tomy is releasing that horrible Transformers game. Otherwise, this month is going to be fantastic with Phantasy Star 4, King of the Monsters, a Kunio Kun dodgeball game and Super Mario RPG.
