Rune Factory dug up for the Wii

Marvelous is aggressively expanding Rune Factory series in Japan. The Harvest Moon spinoff already got a Nintendo DS sequel back in January. Later this year, Rune Factory Frontier will bring the series to the Wii. Neverland Company, the developers of the DS games, will stay on board as the developer for Rune Factory Frontier. This will be Neverland’s first Wii game so I don’t know what to expect other than motion controlled harvesting and a kingdom built on the back of a flying stone whale.

This is almost guaranteed to come out in North America, but it might be awhile until it gets a proper English release. Natsume is quite busy with an existing backlog of Harvest Moon games to publish.

Nice, Rune Factory has always interested me and I think they’d put more effort into a console version.

Actually, Rune Factory is confirmed to be no longer a Harvest Moon game, and Natsume is still in charge of bringing Harvest Moon over.

So maybe, Marvelous and XSEED will bring this baby over as well as Rune Factory 2!

One can hope, as Natsume is not known for their great translations, and the take ages to bring a game over!

Little King’s Story is being brought over by Marvelous and XSEED, I’d always assumed that Natsume would bring that game over. :P

It’s strange, really…the only way this game would make sense would be for it to be a prequel, no? I mean, doesn’t Raguna get married at the end of Rune Factory…?

    Poor Mist.

I haven’t bought a Harvest Moon game since the SNES title. I just didn’t want to be disappointed by some of the newer iterations. Rune Factory looks different though. I look forward to hearing and seeing more about a Wii version. :)

Actually Hero of Legend brings up a good point.

Spencer – if you ever get the chance can you ask someone at Natsume or AQ interactive or XSeed, about what exactly is the status of the publishing of Rune Factory – Since it is no longer considered official Harvest moon series canon, they don’t list it anymore as being part of the Harvest Moon Series. Do they really still consider it a Harvest Moon game at all? Thus where does this end up with publishing wise
