Here is Initial D on the PlayStation 3

With less than a month until it comes out, Sega distributed a promotional movie for Initial D Extreme Stage. The video doesn't expunge much on gameplay details, but I think Initial D fans know what to expect. Well, except for PlayStation Network connectivity. The official site settles the score explaining there is no two player mode in Initial D Extreme Stage. Ghost data is the closest thing you get to racing against an actual human. Other PlayStation Network features include a national time attack mode and downloadable content. Extra cars, my character parts (costumes?), and an original comic will be available on the PlayStation Store, probably for a price.

With this information it looks like the Asian version isn’t missing as much with its omission of “online play”. It’s still up in the air if Sony is going to actively IP block importers from trying to compete in the National Time Attack mode, if Sega removed the features from the disc, or if this simply means the downloadable content will not be on the Asian PlayStation Store.  Importers beware!

well, that’s some really lame news about the lack of 2-player. i was hoping to system link with a friend and play arcade style. i guess it’s not such a big deal since i’m the only person i know who likes these games. i guess the lack of online play explains the lack of a 360 version … unless they pull a VF5, hmmm….

i might just grab the asia edition since it’s single player only. i don’t care about the ghosts of far superior players. they’d just shoot ahead of me early, never to be seen again. i love the game, but i’d hardly say i’m good at it.

btw, are you sure “expunge” is the right word there?

WOW japan really is in trouble compared to other mainstream racing games this doesnt seem to match the standards set by the likes of GRID, pro street or even juiced 2
