Sneak into Metal Gear Online without Metal Gear Solid 4

Metal Gear Solid 4 comes with a starter pack for Metal Gear Online 4. Old news, I know. But what if for some reason you don't care about Solid Snake's last hours. What if you just want to play Metal Gear Online?

Konami has a reasonably priced solution in Japan where Metal Gear Online Starter Packs are being sold as a standalone disc for a mere 1,800 yen ($17). A bargain, considering online play is free. The product page at Rakuten reveals another piece of information about Metal Gear Online, expansion packs will start appearing in July. A week ago I spoke to Ryan Payton who told me “new maps, new characters you can play as, new skills, and new modes” are some of the extra content coming in the future. Rakuten confirms this by explaining well known Metal Gear Solid characters and new stages are in the pipeline.
