After the premature “death” of the Freeloader anticipation for the Japanese release of Soul Eater: Monotone Princess should be waning. However, if you were looking forward to slicing witches by shaking the Wii remote, Square Enix will release Soul Eater: Monotone Princess on September 25. Similar to Square Enix’s Fullmetal Alchemist games, Soul Eater: Monotone Princess will blend a familiar cast of characters with original creations.

Here is a look at who is in the game.

I have not updated to 3.3 and will not do so until there is a solution from Datel/CodeJunkies. So I *am* actually anticipating this title.

Are they all playable? Didn’t think Shinigami would be…

Cool anime btw.

Gringo2K8 Says:

Lookin fwd to import that one as the manga and anime are pretty awesome :)

Any word on the story of the game, “Monotone Princess” plus the “original characters” make me think it won’t follow the real stuff.

FMA is the best exemple of what goes wrong with the translation from manga to anime to video-game storywise… I’ll still get that one to make my opinion :P

Spencer Says:

@tealovertoma - No, they aren’t all playable. As of now only Maka is.

@Gringo2K8 - I haven’t seen the series yet so I’m not sure what would be different unless someone explained it to me. :(

Will more characters be available to play when the game is ready to be released? I was really looking forward to playing as the three main technicians Maka, Black Star, and Death the Kid, with their respective weapons. Death the kid using the Thompson sisters as duel pistols, is worth the price of the game right there. I just hope that the main characters are available as playable characters. It would be really stupid for Square Enix to release a soul eater game without being able to play as all of the core characters.

Shamanda Says:

I really hope this game will be released in America. I am a HUGE fan of the series and would be pretty upset if it was a “japan-only” release. I also hope that all three technicians would be playable, I think it would be pointless if Maka was the only one you could play as. Putting Death the Kidd in it would really be neat for the nunchuck controller.
If it doesn’t come out in America then I would buy the Japanese version anyway, even if I couldn’t understand to much.
