Otomedius G bounces into September

Recommended Videos

September is the month for Xbox 360 shmups. Two weeks after Raiden IV is released, Otomedius G comes out on September 25. A competitive boss rush mode for three moe characters and a cooperative mode are the multiplayer components. Both modes can be played online and through the underutilized system link feature. However, it doesn’t look like three players will be able to play Otomedius G without three separate Xbox 360s. Konami’s official page lists the number of players is one with the ability to link up to three through system to system communication.

The other potentially perturbing issue is Konami’s microtransaction strategy. Konami will sell additional music packs, stages, and characters on the Xbox Live Marketplace. It’s unclear if Otomedius G will come with any new characters like the girl pictured above or the cat girl from the trailer. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Konami put a price on the Vic Viper.
