Dissidia: Final Fantasy dated this year for Japan

By Spencer . June 26, 2008 . 9:30am

The new images of Dissidia: Final Fantasy isn’t the only media Square Enix released. A trailer also appeared on the Square Enix Member’s page, which is now circulating on video sharing sites. The clip features mostly in game footage of Squall, Zidane, and The Warrior of Light fighting their respective adversary. At the end you can see Tidus in a cutscene, but there aren’t any character reveals in this video. Instead, Square Enix teases the actual release of Dissidia: Final Fantasy. Japan will get it sometime in 2008 and you know this is exactly the kind of game Square Enix will localize for North America, probably at a later date.

not that I’m really complaining but, why do I see only male characters? (except for… I forgot her name) It’s not like I’m demanding a female character to fight with, it just struck me as odd.

gundamboy Says:

most of the protags/antags were male, the main ones anyways.

Ryu Kazama Says:

Tina/Terra better be in there!

Simon Says:

I just hope Rinoa would be there.. I want to see her in better 3D than in FF8.. Squall vs. Sephiroth looks cool.

nika Says:

@gundamboy: good point. I wonder if they’ll throw in X-2?

@Simon: I doubt Rinoa would be suited for the sort of battles the game uses, but why not let square surprise us? ;) In the mean while, you might want to watch Dead Fantasy to see her kick ass in 3D.

Reign1770 Says:

I hope Toon Link and Zero suite Samus appear, or Falco :b

Whorl Says:

Akira Ishida it sounds like.
